NARTIS Plant (part of NEK Group), a leading Russian manufacturer of smart meters and charging infrastructure, has opened a second production facility with an area of 6.6 thousand square meters. Investments in the project amounted to 2.1 billion rubles.

The grand opening ceremony took place on October 8, 2025. The new building was officially launched by pressing a symbolic button by Alexander Mordvinov, Chairman of the Government of Vologda Region, Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Filatov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEK JSC, Alexander Koreshev, General Director of NEK JSC, Oleg Vladimirov, General Director of NARTIS Plant LLC, and other representatives of federal and regional authorities.

The new building is equipped with modern automated lines: high-speed component installers, robot manipulators, selective soldering and protective coating systems. Quality control is carried out using artificial intelligence technology.

"The production capability of NARTIS Plant allows us to cover all stages of meter manufacturing – from the casing, surface-mount and through-hole assembly of printed circuit boards, to the final assembly of meters, through to the final inspection of finished products and packaging. The launch of new lines will increase the localisation share of the domestic high-tech electricity meter. The new workshop will enable the plant to strengthen its leading position and provide consumers with modern, high-quality electricity meters," said Alexander Mordvinov, Chairman of the Government of the Vologda Region.

"NEK Group and NARTIS Plant are making a significant contribution to the development of Russian electronics. In a short space of time, an extensive product range has been mastered, and work is underway to establish our own component base, including analogue-to-digital converters and magnetic field sensors. The company has ambitious plans for expansion, including the construction of a printed circuit board (PCB) factory and the development of new product types. This bears witness to the industry's dynamic development and its considerable prospects. The 2024 revenue figures confirm the correctness of the chosen strategy, though this is merely an intermediate stage. I wish the teams at NEK and Nartis every success in their future endeavours. I would also like to extend particular congratulations to Vologda Region, which is rapidly emerging as a leader in the Russian electronics industry. I wish you all the very best for the journey ahead!" said Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

"NEK Group is methodically developing its technological and production capabilities to address the pressing needs of the energy and industrial sectors. NARTIS Plant serves as a prime example of how strategic investment, modern technology, and a professional team converge to create successful manufacturing projects. I am confident that pursuing this strategic direction will establish a new vector for the Group's growth, strengthen its market position, and contribute to the advancement of domestic industry and the enhanced competitiveness of Russian technology," said Dmitry Filatov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEK JSC.

"The commissioning of these new lines is about far more than just expanding our production capacity. For us, this is a strategic move that will enable us to further automate our processes and guarantee our customers a superior level of quality. NARTIS is already an established leader in the smart meter segment, and the launch of this new facility will allow us to consolidate that leadership and build a solid foundation for our future technological development," emphasised Oleg Vladimirov, General Director of NARTIS Plant LLC.

The first production facility of NARTIS Plant was commissioned in 2022. Two facilities were constructed by EnergoSet. The plant manufactures over 2 million meters annually, alongside microcontrollers, microchips, communication modules, data transmission devices, and charging stations for electric vehicles. The company's competitive edge lies in the high degree of product localisation. According to SPARK-Interfax, the enterprise ranks among the top four largest companies in the Vologda Region by revenue and holds first place in the Northwestern Federal District rating by Delovoy Peterburg. The company employs approximately a thousand people.
